Symposia

Abstracts for symposia addressing the congress theme or other important topics related to ageing are welcome.

  • Abstracts should be max. 1750 characters including spaces (approximately 250 words), written in English, and give an introduction to the overall topic and the perspectives provided by the individual presenters.
  • Abstracts should also include learning outcomes max. 350 characters including spaces (approximately 50 words).
  • When using abbreviations within the body of the abstract, please spell out the name in full at first mention and follow with the abbreviation in parenthesis.
  • It is the responsibility of the author to ensure that the abstract text does not contain any typos or grammatical errors.
  • No changes can be made after the abstract deadline has passed.
  • Symposia have the format of a 90-minute session, including 3-5 presentations and time for questions and discussions.
  • If the symposium is accepted, the organizer of the symposium will be responsible for inviting individual symposium abstracts.
  • The guidelines for step two will be added to the notification of accepted symposia.

Oral presentations

Abstracts for oral presentations addressing the congress theme or other important topics related to ageing are welcome.

  • Abstracts should be max. 1750 characters including spaces (approximately 250 words), written in English and include background, study setup (methods), results and discussion.
  • Abstracts should also include learning outcomes max. 350 characters including spaces (approximately 50 words).
  • Results must be the work of the authors listed.
  • When using abbreviations within the body of the abstract, please spell out the name in full at first mention and follow with the abbreviation in parenthesis.
  • It is the responsibility of the author to ensure that the abstract text does not contain any typos or grammatical errors.
  • No changes can be made after the abstract deadline has passed.
  • Oral presentations have the format of a 90-minute session. Each session will include 5 presentations with approximately 17 minutes per presentation including time for questions.
  • Oral presentations will be organized within a given track or topic together with related presentations.
  • Oral presentations will be chaired by an invited moderator who will present the speakers and keep track of the time and questions.

Poster presentations

Abstracts for poster presentations addressing the congress theme or other important topics related to ageing are welcome. At the 27th Nordic Congress of Gerontology, poster presentations will be given special attention by means of topic-specific poster tours that will be led by a moderator.

  • Abstracts should be max. 1750 characters including spaces (approximately 250 words), written in English and include background, study setup (methods), results and discussion.
  • Abstracts should also include learning outcomes max. 350 characters including spaces (approximately 50 words).
  • Results must be the work of the authors listed.
  • When using abbreviations within the body of the abstract, please spell out the name in full at first mention and follow with the abbreviation in parenthesis.

  • Poster presentations are aimed at providing a graphic documentation of your research through text, charts, graphs, and other visual aids.
  • Poster presentations will be available in open areas, accessible to circulating attendees in restricted time slots. They will be organized by topics and placed together with related presentations.
  • The organizers will try to assign as many poster presentations as possible to specific poster tour sessions, whereby presenters will briefly present their work (2-3 minutes) followed by a short Q&A round (2-3 minutes).
